today started well. i woke up often last night, like i used to do, but wasn't tired or groggy in the least this morning. i actually got out of bed wide awake the first time my first alarm went off (i have three alarms, staggered to sound in three minute intervals). i showered and dresssed at the same pace i always do, but was able to leave the house 10 minutes earlier than normal. traffic was light during the drive to work. i stopped by the supermarket, as usual, for bagels and milk. the bakery people had just taken the bagels from the oven, and they anticipated my arrival by having the rack within easy reach of the counter (usually, it's still in the back near the ovens, cooling), so there was no wait for the baker to retrieve the rack for me. at the check out counter, the cashier decided to have a buy-one-get-one-free on the bagels today, so i got a free bagel. at work, my boss was in a good mood and feeling insular today, so i've only had to see him once. all in all, today has been a good day, which only leads me to believe that something really, really, really bad is going to happen very soon.
