i've got a tough choice to make right now: should i flip over to watch Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers, or should i keep watching Mary Poppins?

it's beginning to snow here. that sucks. i don't like snow. i'd much rather have 100° heat and 95% humidity (geez, i love Louisiana in June).
Jean says that, indeed, this link is spoilery. i will trust her judgement on this and change this to say THIS IS SPOILERY! DON'T GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED! DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU GO AND ARE SPOILED (unless you went there when i said it wasn't spoilery, in which case, i'm sorry. i didn't think it was spoilery. i was wrong. i'm very bad).

things have been busy around here. i haven't had a lot of time to keep up on the important things, so i'm grateful that Tinman let me know that this will be the last season of X-Files. i haven't been watching this season, except for a few minutes of the premiere (to see how they didn't explain Mulder's absense), and i caught a little of an episode in which Xena looked to be trying to drown Doggett. much like when you euthanize a suffering pet, i'll be sad to see it go, but it's time to do it. i'll miss seeing Scully kicking ass in tasteful pant suits and heels and it's unfortunate that they didn't bring Doggett in much earlier, 'cause i liked him.
so now that i've mini-eulogized X-Files, i'm gonna say to Chris Carter: should have let it go out last year and kept The Lone Gunmen. i could really use a Jimmy Bond fix right about now, and TLG gave me a character to boo and hiss: Yves Adele Harlow.

if there was ever an argument for an estate tax, our President is it.
i caught a bit of a press conference with Jeb Bush, and i've decided that we Didn't-Elect the wrong Bush son. Jeb is much more articulate than his half-wit brother, he doesn't speak in soundbitey platitudes (for the most part) and he isn't nearly as evasive as his brother. so i say, let's Not-Elect the other Bush son in 2004! (seriously, should he run ever in his or my life or anyone's life, don't vote for him. we really don't need another Bush in the White House. what, is that family gonna keep trying until they get it right?)
vote Joyce DeWitt in 2004!

here's a review for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Complete First Season DVD.
last night, i watched the first two episodes of Buffy, then watched them with Joss's commentary, then watched them a third time, only it was Buffy contre les vampires (that is, dubbed in French. i didn't understand a word they were saying, but, verily, it did crack me up. if you thought Giles could be pretentious with his British accent, just listen to him in French).
i also tried to figure out why my computer hates me so much. it won't work properly now.

Buffy Toon Stalled? -- please i hope not. i need more Buffy!
WB announces an early pick up of three shows for the 2002-2003 season. Angel wasn't one of them, but that doesn't really matter. i doubt WB will drop it, and even if they do UPN is obligated to pick it up. ha!

even Mikey watched "The Gift" with me and the boyfriend. even Mikey got all choked up at the end.

terrence is a very happy man right now. i bought the Buffy season one DVD, and it was even ten dollars off! yayayayayayayayayayayayay! i did a little dance in Best Buy when i found it and i hugged it all the way through the store. and there really is a little insert that says that season two will be out in June. yayayayayayayayayayay again!
i also bought another 128 Mb of RAM. maybe that'll help make the Everquest experience a little better. but for now, f*ck that. i got the Buffy DVDs! yayayayayayayay!
i also stopped off to get the Tales of the Slayer TPB. the comic store didn't have it. i was disappointed. then i remembered that it doesn't come out until tomorrow. hooray! but then i thought, 'hmm... the comic book guy looked like he didn't know what i was talking about when i asked for it.' probably means they won't have it for a while. very sad terrence. but now i have the Buffy DVDs. yayayayayayayayayayay!
did i mention the Buffy DVDs? yayayayayayayayay!

oh wait, i have some things to say about Angel: Cordy/Angel kissage! yay! Skip said that deep down everyone knows their purpose, and Cordy echoed at the end that she knows her purpose. she appeared to know there was something else she should be doing, some other purpose, then she goes and kisses Angel. uh huh. he is her purpose. and she his, and they have a smoochie that restored her memory that proves it. nyah! and Connor is the already-there child that can fill any need Cordelia and Angel feel to have children (until Angel becomes human and he and Cordy can have one together).
i remembered another unanswered question about the show that i had last night. check the line of thought: in season one, Doyle kisses Cordelia, she gets the visions. at the end of last night's ep, Cordelia kisses Angel and gets the visions. so, how did Angel get the visions from Doyle?
yep, Angel/Doyle slash fickers are gonna love that ep.

you know, that Angel ep just makes me feel good. forget "It's a Wonderful Life." i like this one better.
last night's Angel [don't read past this point if you haven't seen it -- spoilery] was a satisfactory conclusion to the Cordy-painful-visions thing, forced upon her by TPTB through Skip (yay for Skip! i love Skip! Skip rocks!). i liked that a chance encounter with Angel is what kept her from being a successful actress, and that in end, she gave it up to keep Angel sane and to fight the good fight (something she wished she could stay out of while in Sunnydale).
even better, considering how not close she and Angel were in Sunnydale, that she hadn't seen him in three years, that in Sunnydale she was largely shallow and uncaring when it came to others, and that once in LA, being around Angel has caused her all sorts of troubles and frustration, it's really amazing that Cordy chose to have her demon fighting life back. it's indicative of how much she's changed. i know it's obvious that current Cordy is different than Sunnydale Cordy, but now there can be no doubt that it's more than a superficial change. had Sunnydale Cordy, at the end of Buffy ep "Graduation Day pt 2" been shown those two possible paths, which would she have chosen? i think she'd have taken the non demon-fighting, fame-and-riches life, for her a return to the less difficult, more glamourous and more comfortable pre-Buffy lifestyle.
i liked the Mary Tyler Moore-esque opening credits for "Cordy!" also, take a look at her when she first appears in the alternate life, on the set before an applauding audience. Charisma Carpenter has an incredible smile.
the biggest unanswered question in this episode: at the end, while having a pain free vision episode, Cordelia was floating. so my question is, does her birthday cake at the beginning presage that Cordy will be wearing a cape and flying à la Supergirl?

i just saw a commercial for Sonic that starred Larry Bagby, Buffy's Larry! it's good to see that he's working. [actually, he's been doing other things too]
Slayage.com has news that the second season Buffy DVDs will be out in June! yay!
season one comes out tomorrow.

the boyfriend, last night, told me that i have a negative attitude. i'm not sure why he thinks that. i've always thought of myself as an optimist nonpessimist. anyone else care to let me know if i'm wrong?
the Playboy channel has a program called Sex Court that has an episode title "Assume Deposition." that really cracks me up.
