clarifying my "Gabriel Byrne is a man!" exclamation, i don't think his gender was in doubt for most people. there are just some actors that i can't ever remember for some reason. Mr. Byrne is one of them. i've seen a few of his films, but for some reason i just can't keep in my mind an association of his face with his name. they may as well be two distinct entities.

much like Juliette Binoche. know the name. can never remember who she is. same with Juliette Lewis. Cate Blanchett? i know i like her. don't know who she is unless i'm watching one of her films. Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones are the same person in my mind (and have they ever been seen together? hmm...)

i've made some progress though. i can now keep Uma Thurman and Nicole Kidman straight, and when it comes to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Willa Ford, i know who Britney is (the one who looks artificial; also she's the one who exudes 'Whore'), and i can usually distinguish Willa from Christina because i don't get Willa confused with Shakira.

so you see, it wasn't a personal slight against Mr. Byrne.
