no sleep, no sleep. didn't feel well last night. anthrax kept me awake (i'm blaming every symptom i exhibit on anthrax, especially the feline dander related anthrax i'm experiencing).
even the great and powerful coffee gods can't help me right now.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "What's My Line, Part 1"
i'm gonna skip over the cocaine jokes that spring to mind. actually, i hadn't given much thought to that title before, but now, i suddenly see how appropriate it is for this episode. clever titler, and yay for Buffy epiphanies (Buffiphanies? say that word out loud. it's fun!).

heh. last post i said i wanted more J. August Richards stuff to link to. if i'd looked a little harder, i would have had something.
since today is Angel day, i'll throw out a couple more Angel-related links: Alexis Denisof interview (one i may have linked before. it felt familiar, but i couldn't find a previous link) and "The Art of Being Charisma Carpenter." they really need to do more with J. August Richards. i want to link more often to things about him.
tonight's Angel ep is "Fredless": Angel (David Boreanaz) goes into full detective mode when Fred's (Amy Acker) parents unexpectedly arrive in Los Angeles to bring Fred home, but their appearance inexplicably sends her into a tailspin and on the run.

the Charisma Carpenter fansite says "Charisma stars in an episode [of VH-1's Strange Frequency series] called "Don't Fear the Reaper," where she plays a goth singer obsessed with death -- that is, until the Grim Reaper shows up at one of her shows! The air date is listed as Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 10pm."
also from the CC fansite, here's Charisma with wings, and i didn't realize that CC's hair was so important to the WB (i couldn't decide which way i preferred).

Fray #4 is out (finally! after taking September off). it had a nice little twist at the end that was foreseeable, but not in one of those 'oh, that's soooo obvious' kind of ways. still liking the art, still liking the story, and still eagerly anticipating the next issue.
TVGuide online article : "The Bite Stuff" (har) about Angel.
and from (minor casting spoilers in link)"Insider": "Alas, other former favorites are less likely to drop in. Now that Buffy again has a pulse, a visit with the heartthrob who always made it race — Riley — is a no-brainer. However, sighs Noxon, "that's a big, big maybe. It depends on if Marc Blucas is available. He's turning into a big, fancy movie guy.
"Between him and Seth Green [who played Willow's beau, Oz], we're stuck," she adds. "And forget about Eliza Dushku [aka rogue Slayer Faith] — we can't get her back."

because 5 just weren't enough, Sly Stallone says something about "Rocky 6" and that Rocky may be going to Broadway. (audio clip). he also said a bunch of other stuff, but it's really hard listening to his voice, ya know?

hey, i'd watch. there are a few reasons i don't want Cordelia to get her own spin off series, but the biggest is: if Cordelia's on a separate series, then she and Angel can't get together and fall in love and have little fashionable vampire babies (hey, if Darla can have Angel's baby, why can't Cordy?).
the second biggerst reason i don't want Cordy to get her own show is that i already spend too much time in front of the television. i watch Angel, UPN Buffy, Roswell, Smallville, Enterprise, Special Unit 2, Mutant X, syndiBuffy five nights a week, and weekend syndiBuffy on the local WB affiliate. and think about what's coming up! X-Files (eeg. was that last night?), 24 and The Tick. plus, James Marsters is guest starring on Andromeda for an ep next month (i already like the show. i'm afraid to watch or i may become interested enough to be a regular viewer), Ab Fab is coming back, and QAF starts up again in January.
i think it's time i started doing some tv viewage trimming. still, even if i just watch Buffyverse, that's 8 hours of tv a week, almost twice what i watched last spring.

shootings at a downtown club here in Tulsa last night. one of my coworkers was there with family and friends celebrating her birthday. her cousin was the guy shot in the back and the guy who was shot in the head was the cousin's friend. dozens of people witnessed the shooting. many know the shooter by name. no one told the police who he was.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "The Dark Ages" which applies aptly to us, if the things i've been reading in the news lately are true.
American Jedi. the only good parts are the lacrosse scenes.

the Jason Bates' review of this week's Enterprise and Natalie Lyon's review of the premiere of Smallville.
i have to agree with Natalie about one thing. wasn't Bo Duke as Pa Kent kinda sexy? do you think that, when he's feeling all frisky, he makes Ma Kent dress up like Daisy? hey, when he said to superlicious son Clark, 'It's time you knew the truth," maybe he was actually going to show him what he keeps locked away in the other barn, the General Lee(!), but changed his mind 'cause he ain't sharing the General with no one.
personally, i think they should have tapped Tom Wopat to play Lex's father. hell, while we're at it, they should have cast Catherine Bach as Ma Kent (the Dukes are from Georgia. incest is ok there).

two hours at work and i still haven't done anything. reminds me of the good old days, when i could goof off for half the day with no problem, no expectation of 'work'. that all changed after my old boss was reorganized out of a job. the new boss, in re-evaluating what we do, decided to have some work created to fill in all the Fun Time we used to have. work created for the sake of working is pointless. and boring. and makes me unhappy. and my work suffers. now, i work almost twice as much (timewise) as before but my production numbers have fallen to just over half of what they were. no Fun Time = Grumpy Terrence. Grumpy Terrence doesn't focus well (terrence has trouble focusing anyway. Grumpy Terrence even moreso). Grumpy Terrence drinks a lot of coffee, which makes him jittery, and the whole concept of "Focus" dissipates in the creamered Columbian haze.
i miss my old job. i miss my pointless and nonproductive existence.

GameSpot has a review of "Sid Meier's Civilization III". it sounds like a big improvement over Civ II (which i really couldn't get into. too cumbersome) and may be what reintroduces me to the 20 hour Civ marathons i used to pull regularly. we'll see if it can replace my old favorite turn-based strategy game, "Alpha Centauri" (i love the Planetbusters).

tonight on syndiBuffy: "Lie To Me" in which Joyce asks Buffy, for the thousandth time, is everything ok?
VSG and i watched Dr. Dolittle 2 last night. while i enjoy talking racoons and beavers as much as the next guy, i believe that i could have enjoyed a long and happy life without ever seeing this movie.
last night's syndiBuffy was a yay! event. besides such great things as Sexy Xander, "Who's That Girl?" Oz, and Catsuit Cordelia (for some reason it just cracks me up. they should make that an action figure), we also get Ripper! he took on Ethan, and i shouted "kick him! kick him again! kick him harder!" yay, Ripper!
my only thoughts on Enterprise: Cmdr Trip... spandex... Cmdr Trip... spandex... (oh.. and that the theme song is starting to grow on me).

*sniff* heading home for anthrax treatment *cough*: tonight's syndiBuffy! this episode is "Halloween" in which Xander gets butch in that sexy way that Nick Brendon seems to be really good at (think "The Pack").

Sci Fi Wire says: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Anthony Stewart Head will appear on a Halloween edition of Hollywood Squares, Oct. 29-31. Head will be dressed as Robin Hood."
hey, he could've gone as Frank-n-Furter.
also, Alexis Denisof talks about Wesley (briefly).

i'm coming down with something. at first, i thought it was just my allergies. this is the time of year they usually kick in full force. now though, i can feel the congestion in my chest, i have a slight headache, a light fever, and the lymph nodes in my neck and axillary area are swollen. it's apparent that i have inhalation anthrax. i haven't opened any suspicious mail or, to my knowledge, been exposed to an unknown white powder (that kilo of cocaine i received last month doesn't count), but, in these frightening (and hysteric) times, what else could it be?
so i pledge to everyone that i will continue to blog as the infection grows ("last of the great tolkhans: the Anthrax Series"), relaying first hand accounts of the terrible toll the microorganism takes on my body, posting photos of any mucilaginous discharges, until i either succumb or am cured. or if the doctor tells me it's just a cold. or until the weekend, when i don't blog anyway.

in case you left the room during the commercials while watching Buffy last night, or taped it to watch later and ff'd through them, you missed the commercials for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: the Musical. it's an episode that's coming up quickly. see the Buffster sing! i think we'll be in a bigger treat to see Giles and Spike do some singing. i've been told that Anthony Head and James Marsters are actually very good. you can catch a little of Singing Giles in the fourth season episode "Restless" (and he is quite good. i should actually call him Rockin' Giles), or maybe you were lucky enough to hear "ASH in the 1990 London revival of "The Rocky Horror Show" (follow the link to hear some clips), and James is said to have sung often at a Santa Monica club.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "Reptile Boy". hmm. nothing snarky to add to that. off day.
later gators.
later gators.
odd. i didn't have much to say to-day, i guess. i'm sure that'll change tomorrow. Buffy's on tonight (on UPN), followed by Roswell, which is opposite the series premiere of Smallville. maybe i should have made a bigger deal out of the Smallville thing. eh.
ho! i found something i posted 5 years ago: an old AD&D character's "Poof!" spell.
Angel alternately cracked me up and made me sad. it made me sad for Fred that she has her thing for Angel, because i know it'll never work. Angel and Cordy are destined to be together. and since Gunn and Wesley obviously have something going on between them, where's Fred going to find love? the Host? i don't think so. Doyle's dead (and maybe a ghost living in Cordy's apartment). Merle's dead. Lindsay left. there just aren't any good candidates right now. we need a new character introduced. hey! what about Skip? he's sorta out of job right now, though i guess he may have some issues with Angel.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "Inca Mummy Girl" in which Xander continues his trend of pursuing women who are only out to kill him.
i forgot to mention last Friday that the syndiBuffy showing was "School Hard," the first Spike episode. if you didn't get to see it, you can drop by and watch it with me sometime.

that scum sucking, bribe taking, lying, hypocritical son of a motherfriggin' bitca J.C. Watts Jr. (R - OK) used the word "bomb" in an outburst at an officer who had just given Watts a ticket for violating new security rules at the OKC airport. he also stuffed the ticket under the badge of the officer. i think that's assault. should have arrested the bastard who would have then had a taste of what awaits his sorry ass (he's corrupt. he'll be caught one day).

in discussing my cryptozoological favorite, the Tasmanian Tiger, with a friend at the DEQ, he said that he saw a documentary last year claiming that one had been found or video taped. anyone else seen this documentary, or heard of one being filmed? any confirmed reports of sightings? i found this, but it's four years old now.
today's Cryptozoological beastie is: the mokele-mbembe!
was a mokele-mbembe killed in 1960? is it a living sauropod?
ooooh! spoooooky!

with all this talk about anthrax, and all the ways that folks are trying to blame these sudden multiple appearances of the bacterium in NY and FL on terrorism and various Middle Eastern and South Asian nations, i'd like to take this opportunity to repost a link to the Center for Nonproliferation Studies and remind everyone that a biological weapons program, possibly including anthrax, once (and probably still does) existed in the nation oft-considered the greatest threat to world security and peace: Canada.
had a new nightmare last night, which is interesting, since i usually dream variations on the same nightmares i've been having for a decade. this one actually startled me out of sleep, and i ended up falling out of bed. clocked myself but good on the wall and now i have a little bruising along the jawline.
i think my co-workers are beginning to suspect that i'm a Batmanish-type superhero in my off time. i'm always coming to work with new cuts and bruises, i walk like i'm sore, and i never seem to be getting enough sleep. as much as i wish it was true (it'd be fun throwing down with Evil Doers, i think), it's not, which is a good thing. i don't own a codpiece and i don't look good in spandex. i do love a good cape though.
anyway, i'm not a superhero. just a klutz.

remember the Fourth grade competition thing i talked of earlier this week? my boss's boss's boss called me personally and guilted me into going (i'd decided not to participate). turns out it was a good thing i did. my idea for the design of the balloon tower and my vast knowledge of American history won the day. the team I was on (Team Liberty. i didn't name us) won, and we get to go home now. yay! so i'm off!
eh, shit. just noticed my permalinks aren't working. i'll fix that next week.
Disconnecting for the weekend....

more Enterprise stuff: Braga Talks Enterprise Theme
Brannon Braga told the Calgary Sun that he's aware of some fans' unhappiness with the UPN series' opening theme song, Faith of the Heart, by Dianne Warren. [He said] "There are some people who love the song."
someone should tell him that his wife and Dianne Warren don't count.

Jason Bates' review of "Strange New Worlds" (this week's Enterprise ep); it has a couple of points, but really isn't a good review, and it actually miffs me off because of this:
"You'd think this would be a tremendous moment in human history, equivalent to Columbus' landing in America -- Earth is nothing if not horribly overcrowded, and a brand new, unclaimed planet with no inhabitants would be a panacea. Or is whatever government that exists at this early stage of the Federation so efficient that is has solved world hunger, poverty, etc. Or does Earth have colonies outside its system already, which is sort of implied by the 'boomers' they keep mentioning. These are important question that never seem to get addressed and whatever has been printed in some interview does NOT count since this is a review of the show, not what you read in a magazine somewhere. "
i say, dude, watch the pilot episode again and get over your (literal) masturbatory detox rub down scene fantasies and your (figurative) masturbatory "What I'd like to see in this series/what I don't want to see in this series" review. it's made quite clear in "Broken Bow" that Earth has taken care of it's poverty-war-disease-hunger thing.
what the heck do you expect? for Archer and crew take the shuttlecraft down and immediately begin surveying a location for the capitol of New Earth (they were there for less than two days)? or do you do a cursory exploration of the planet surface to compile a report to send back to Earth and let the bigwigs back home make the decision about further exploration and colonization while you continue your mission of exploration of space?
i think Mr Bates just didn't do his homework, like he threw something together at the last minute hoping teacher would go easy on him since he's done well before.
of course, i'm the lamoid asshole who's reviewing someone's review of a television program.

quote of the day:
My dear child, religion is a wonderful thing. It sustains us, brings us joy, and helps in everyday life. But so do your genitals. Keep them both to yourself and don't flop them around in polite company. There is a time and place to let them both out freely."

ok, been considering something this morning that threatens to become one of those 'Things That Keep Me Up At Night.' if Vulcans mate only every seventh year, how is it that a Vulcan couple gets their mating cycle synchronized? do young Vulcans put ads in the the Pon Farr Times: "SVM seeking logical, detached and efficient female who mates during late August/early September of 2006, 2013, etc. I am a logical, detached and efficient male who enjoys lifting my eyebrow, saying 'fascinating' and being condescending to humans. tonight begins Season Two on FX's syndiBuffy: "When She Was Bad," she was still Very good.
sometimes, i really hate my job. they're trying to make me participate in some silly little intra-corporate competition on Friday where we have teams and we do things like race while balancing eggs on spoons.
um... hello? fourth grade, anyone?
um... hello? fourth grade, anyone?
ok. geocities is giving me crap, so i've had to put this off site over at blogspot: finally, my Buffy reviews. forgive the appearance of the page, but i was rushed. eventually, i set up something of my own on-site, but until then, it's there.
work in progress. eventually, i'll get more than just the current episodes up, and probably an index of some time, and maybe make the page look snazzier (if i ever have the time).

i watched the season premiere of Roswell last night. i'd only seen two episodes before, and i've been told they weren't particularly good episodes, but i liked last night's. that's a good thing, considering i didn't know what was going on. the acting was good, and Jason Behr looked hot. what more do i need to know?
i was in a minor car accident last night. this is the second in about three months. i've only owned my car for six months. in the nine years of driving before i bought this car, i'd been involved in two accidents (i was at fault in neither). leads me to believe that there's something about this car that attracts other vehicles, or maybe vehicles with dumbass drivers. however, having been hit twice now, i know that my car can take a good hit. the 17-or-so year old girl who sideswiped me did so with a good solid impact, and the only damage to my car was some scratching on the side of the front bumper to complement that scratching on the rear bumper from the last accident.
the girl was terrified. it was her first accident. she was fortunate that it happened with someone who like me who didn't scream and yell at her. the poor girl could barely write her name down for me. i did my best to soothe her. i told her it was no big deal, explained what she was required to do, explained what her options were and told her that, because there really wasn't any damage to my car, i won't report it to the insurance company.
i lied of course. i'm going to milk this for every single penny i can get out of it. hey, she looked to have wealthy parents. what can i say?
for those who don't know, i'm kidding.
anyway, if you're in the market for a new car, go with a Ford. they can take a hit (do you think Ford would want to use that as a slogan?).

an interesting tidbit in the Pokemon article linked by Jonno:
"In 1991, an American woman named Dianne Neale suffered seizures from hearing Entertainment Tonight co-host Mary Hart's eerily perky voice. Her doctors said Hart's electronically transmitted voice triggered Neale's epilepsy by creating abnormal electrical charges in her brain (MSNBC 1997)."
this isn't news. she does the same thing to me and millions of other people.

with Blogger being up and down for fixin', i didn't get the chance to add Roswell to the Tonight on TV on the sidebar. it's third season premiere is tonight after Buffy.
tonight's new Buffy is "After Life"
and on tonight's syndiBuffy: "Prophecy Girl" -- Buffy faces her deadliest enemy to date: Miss Cleo!

today is my best mate's birthday.

isn't he a cutie?
happy birthday, buddy.

chimney cheese! it's only 11 fucking 20! i asked the boss to shift my schedule up from 9 to 6, to a more syndiBuffy-accessable (i'm pathetic, i know) 7 to 4. that two hours makes a big difference. not only is it still dark when i awaken, but the day draaaaaags by. it feels like it's been 3 weeks since i got here this morning. my coffee buzz has already worn off!
Choire says "Terrence will edit the in-house newspaper and adjudicate all disputes." i'm not so sure i'm qualified for that first part. i like to get creative in my spelling, and make up words ('corndogalicious' anyone?) and i use hyphens way-too-much, and somehow every post i write comes back to Buffy, and i babble a lot.
the second part though i could handle. adjudicating all disputes would make me a judge. *The* Judge. yes, i will rid the world of the plague of post-apocalyptic, nuclear-winterized humanity!
see. every post comes back to Buffy somehow.

blogger's being disagreeable this morning. won't let me update my template.
instead, i'll say that i saw Cats and Dogs with VSG. it's one of those movies i'd watch with my nephews, ya know, but i *loved* the Ninja Cats! any cat that can do a flying kick is ok in my my book.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "Out of Sight, Out of Mind," the Buffy special dealing with Xander's nasty case of crabs.

Coming Attractions reports that Gloria Foster, the Oracle of The Matrix, died last weekend. has everyone been talking about this for a week and i missed it?
Aaliyah, Gloria Foster... maybe Laurence Fishburne should get out before it's too late.

i noticed last night that i didn't have any way to contact me listed on this page. fixed that, though now i'm wondering how people have been emailing me when the address wasn't listed anywhere here. the paranoia-minded want to know.
received an email a few minutes ago from the boss' boss' boss:
"In light of the OU / Texas game this weekend we have developed a little Trivia game for you all. Get all of them right and be the first one in your group and you could win a half day off!
1) Who currently leads the OU / TEXAS series?
2) What is OU's Mascot? and what is the Texas Mascot?
3) The OU Fight song was written by?
4) Throughout the history of the OU/Texas rivalry, who have been the only 2 running backs to rush for more than 200 yards in the same game? One running back played for Texas, the other for Oklahoma."
within minutes, i gave my winning answers:
1) Texas
2) the Sooner Schooner and Bevo
3) Arthur M. Alden
4) De'mond Parker for OU and Ricky Williams for UT
the people in my group complain that i had an advantage because i attended OU and lived in Norman for six years. i don't watch football though. i hate the sport. the only question i could answer on my own was the mascots. i won because i'm fast on the google search, and it really pisses off the guys over in the Cable Sports group that queer!Terrence beat them to it.
take that, jockboys!

not feeling well today. yesterday, i thought i had a toothache, some problem with one of my wisdom teeth. i worried i may need to have it pulled. then, i wake up this morning, with a swollen throat, and i have a dull ache running up the side of my head from throat to ear, with the beginnigs of an ear ache. things like this always happen just before i go out of town.
this afternoon, i'm driving to St Louis for my best mate's birthday. and for the Whitecastles. best mate Brian is going to make me play golf with him. i'm so overjoyed, i'm ready to wet myself.

tonight on syndiBuffy: "Puppet Show," the episode in which Buffy deals with the Supreme Court. goodnight, everybody!
to hell with it. there will be no tv reviews this week. i'll try again next week.
anyone planning to buy all 16 "Collectible Covers" of the TVGuide featuring the Survivor: Africa contestants? i'm really wondering if this multiple cover thing increases sales.
a Gene Roddenberry action figure? seems a bit odd, but i think i want to get one. my Buffy action figure could use a new friend or enemy. not sure which way Gene would go. i'd have to put them together and see how they react.
speaking of action figures, i haven't mentioned that i did get one new friend for Action!Buffy: Action!Oz (see them here with Action!Giles, who i'll be picking up in a couple of weeks). the two make a great pair to battle Evil Doers and the Undead, but with all those weapons, i thought they might turn to fighting each other, and i really didn't want Buffy to kick Oz's ass (you know she would), so i had to get some enemies for them: Warrior Nun Areala and Shotgun Mary. the battle will be glorious!
which action figure do i want most right now? Fiesta Giles.

Also well-orchestrated are the subtle hints at Willow's possible turn to Dark Phoenix-dom. Lying about offing Bambi? Puking up snakes? Wearing clogs?

tonight on syndiBuffy: "I Robot...You Jane" the crossover hit that has Xander swinging from the trees in a loincloth. woo!
too bizarre not to link to: "Stone Baby" or "fetal calcification isn't everything it's cracked up to be."
Angel and Buffy fell into swoony star- crossed love. He helped her take on the beasties (Angel morphs fangs, a prehensile forehead and glowing eyes when he's in a fighting mood);
what the hell is a prehensile forehead? how is that even possible? is there a definition of 'prehensile' that i'm not familiar with? eh, it comes from a NYTimes article but is reposted here (scroll down to September 24). all in all, it's a good article about Angel.

haven't posted any links for a while, so here's a few:
the overnight Buffy ratings numbers (6.2 rating and a 9 share, whatever that means). Buffy ended up placing fourth for the night.
a review of Monday night's Angel ("That Vision Thing").
Roswell vs. Smallville.

i'm just not going to have the time for that Buffy review today after all. being forced off the computer for an hour while the tech took care of my little virus problem has put me far behind in work. sucks. also, my lunch with Video Store Guy ran a little long (though it was worth it for the "no thanks, i don't use salt and pepper." "what? you don't *do* Salt 'N Peppa??" conversation). i miss the months when i had no work and spent half of my day just blogging. ::sigh:: ah well. i'll write that Buffy review tonight at home, after Enterprise and Special Unit 2 so it will definitely be here tomorrow.
ok, so now i'm going to say something i've never said before: i hate school. the only person that i've just been dying (not literally) to discuss last night's Buffy with has to study for a test and can't talk about it. boo! hiss! school sucks!
a strange file appeared on my desktop out of nowhere. i emailed the Help Desk about it, and they had someone check it out. it was a virus. they cleaned my harddrive. never the one to do things in a small way, i had seventeenhundred infected files. yay me! but don't think i'm a knucklehead who's been opening up strange emails (what kind of guy do you think i am?). someone's been using my computer late at night, and he or she picked it up in his or her web meanderings. my biggest worry, of course, was that in all the 'Delete Files' the tech would be doing, i'd lose my Buffy wallpaper. thank grog he didn't touch it.
so much to do today, but i will find the time for the Buffy talk. fear not.

been really busy today. haven't had the chance to review last night's Angel, and now there's not enough time. so, it'll have to wait a day or two. hey, i can talk about Buffy and Angel tomorrow. it'll be like old times, when they were broadcasted back-to-back.
tonight's full of Buffy. first, tonight's syndiBuffy is the episode "Angel," in which Buffy discovers that Angel knows the Colonel's secret blend of eleven herbs and spices, followed by (let me say this one more time today) Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Season Six Premiere! watch it. if you don't, i'll have to come kick your ass.

after a month long hiatus, Joss Whedon's Fray #4 comes out this week. yay!
Buffy's all i can talk about apparently. i just talked another co-worker into leaving early tonight and watching Buffy. yay!
Zap2it has some Buffy related clips. some are interviews with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, James Marsters or Joss Whedon, other's are clips from tonight's season premiere (if you don't want to be spoiled, don't watch them. you can always come back after the show airs, right?). tonight's the night. nine hours to go for all-new Buffy!

tonight on syndiBuffy: The Pack. Angel will be on at 8pm CDT on WB.
tomorrow: season 6 premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer at 7pm. that's only a little more than 25 hours away right now. yay!

i'm corndogiliciously happy about the fair, and i was trying to be positive about the last three days of having houseguests from out of town, but i have to bitch about one of them: one of the two females was so friggin' full of bullshit that i'm still angry. she and i were having a discussion about various military-type things (since i am an expert on such matters) and she said something about Vietnam. i disagreed with her, and she starts shouting "I know what I'm talking about! I was in the army and I have top level clearance!" this is where i had to drop out of the conversation.
this just-turned-20 year old girl expected me to believe that she had top level clearance in the army? she expected me to believe that she was even *in* the army? she expected me to believe that, even though she'd said earlier that she was just a reservist? she expected me to believe that, even if she actually had top level clearance, that she'd just blurt out sensitive information solely to support her contention that the US should slaughter all one billion Muslims?
livid doesn't begin to describe how i felt at that moment. but enough of that. it's not like that was the only thing she did that pissed me off.
her second night in my apartment, she demanded that i give up my bed to her. apparently, extending the courtesy of shelter wasn't enough, and (for some reason) she thought i'd actually give up my bed to her when a) VSG was also staying the weekend with me and b) my best mate Brian and his boyfriend Tim, with whom she was tagging along from St Louis, were there also. they'd have had first dibs anyway (if i'd been willing to give up my bed, which i wasn't. i always sleep on the futon at their house). then: at 3am, she called a guy that she'd met at the fair only 6 hours before and gave him an invitation and directions to my apartment while i was asleep. if there is any offense for which i'd be willing to go all Freddy Kruger on someone's ass, giving a stranger entry to my home with neither my knowledge or permission is it. i wouldn't let most of the people i know into my apartment. why would i have allowed her to bring some rough-trade looking, trash talking, effin' stranger into my apartment? that goes beyond rude. that goes into the "Given the Opportunity, I Will Destroy You" catagory.
ok. i'm done.

the new Angel season 3 cast photo is out, this time including Fred.
Realplayer interviews with Joss about the Giles series and the musical episode (old clips, i think. bloody BBC didn't bother with putting a date on the clips). still interesting if you haven't seen them.
i like this idea: Who Would You Kill on [insert television show]?
it's corndog time! last weekend was opening weekend for the Tulsa State Fair. though it's basically the same thing every year, i go year after year for the corndogs. i never ride any rides (most suck anyway) or buy any of the trinkets (most suck anyway). it's only for the corndogs. entertainment options include LFO, who was there yesterday (bloody hell, i missed 'em) and the local band Shamrock (i've seen them play before. pretty good). have i mentioned the corndogs? they're well worth the price.
